Dental Implants
Dental implants - Procedure Sequence
Dental implants are surgically placed into the gums and underlying bone to replace missing or extracted teeth. Implants are alternatives to bridges, replacing the root of the missing tooth rather than requiring the preparation of the neighboring teeth to hold the bridge. Once the implant is stable and integrated into the bone, a crown is placed on top of it. Dental implants generally require one or two surgical procedures with a recuperation time of three to six months. Implants placed in the bottom arch have a 95% rate of success, and last for more than 35 years.
