PROSTHODONTISTS - THE PLASTIC SURGEONS OF DENTISTRY

Dr. Bruno Sharp and Dr. Bernard Segall of Prosthodontic Dentistry of South Florida (PDSF) are changing the lives of their patients every day.  As prosthodontists, they are specialists in the restoration and replacement of teeth, today’s architects of a dental treatment plan and heralded as “the plastic surgeons of dentistry.”

Prosthodontists collaborate with general dentists, orthodontists, periodontists, plastic surgeons and other health professionals to develop solutions to a patient’s dental concerns. Only prosthodontists are specifically trained to design and supervise a complete dental treatment plan for optimal function and aesthetics to achieve a perfect smile and perfect teeth.

More and more people have a desire to look and feel differently, so cosmetic surgery is a booming practice,” says Dr. Bruno Sharp, CD, DDS, MS.  “We can significantly help improve a patient’s self-image and quality of life by creating a great smile where one didn’t exist before – or by making an already good smile even better.”

Extended education, experience and rigorous training in an American Dental Association/ accredited graduate education program provide Dr. Sharp and Dr. Segall with the special skills to understand and manipulate the dynamics of the smile.  Their specialized training also includes the preservation of a healthy mouth, the art of creating tooth replacement and treatment of the temporomandibular joint.

“The work of a prosthodontist is functional, as well as cosmetic,” Dr. Sharp adds, “Healthy teeth and gums are the key to a smile that not only looks good, but makes one feel great, too.”

The prosthodontists at PDSF also help patients by restoring the full use of teeth damaged by nightly grinding, decay or nerve damage, traumatic injuries, gum disease, loss of jawbone due to disease or birth defects, aging and bone shrinkage, oral cancer reconstruction and continuing care. For these treatment needs, Dr. Sharp and Dr. Segall provide the necessary complex care management and supervision, as well as follow-up care.
