Fourth Generation Dentist Gives Patients Something to Smile About

Dr. Bruno Sharp is a Prosthodontist specialist with almost twenty years of experience and training, practicing in Coconut Grove, Florida. Born in Rio de Janeiro, following a family tradition of more than 100 years, Dr. Sharp is the 4th generation of dentists from the Sharp family from Brazil, who have studied in the United States.

Dr. Sharp first earned his dental degree in Rio de Janeiro and completed an advanced program in Restorative Dentistry at the National University in Brazil. He entered into a general dentistry practice in Rio de Janeiro for three years before deciding to study in the United States following the family tradition.

Arriving in the United States in 1988, he attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia to study the English language. Then he attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he received a degree in general sciences. Like his great-grandfather, who studied at the Medical College of Virginia in 1900. Dr. Sharp was accepted as a sophomore to the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1989. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in May 1992. Dr. Sharp then worked as a general practitioner in Norfolk, Virginia until early 1994. While enrolled at Virginia School of Dentistry, he decided to specialize in Prosthodontics, and was accepted by the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry for its three-year Master’s program. He graduated in 1997 and begun his practice in Coconut Grove later that year. Dr. Sharp resides in Miami Beach.

Dr. Sharp is an active member of professional dental associations: Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontics.
